DEC Enugu Trains Women In Community Governance
Development Education centre, DEC, Enugu, has reiterated the need for women's inclusion in community governance and development structures.
The Executive Director of Development Education Centre Enugu, Dr. Cecilia Asogwa who disclosed this on Wednesday during a one-day training organized for women in Igwe's cabinet, stated the aim of the workshop.
Also, the traditional ruler of Itchi community in Igbo Eze South Local Government area of Enugu State, His Royal Highness Igwe Lazarus Ugwuoke, enlightened the women Chiefs on the role they play in the
traditional ruling council.
Meanwhile, representatives from Enugu, Abia and Kogi states while sharing their experiences, expressed satisfaction over the empowerment extended to them by the organization.
Dream FMs Correspondent Lilian Nwonyeali reports that the high point of the event was the presentation of over the counter drugs to support Umuerem Primary health Centre, iluama in Isikwuato Local Government area of Abia State, as part of the organizations objectives to help ameliorate some health centres that are not functional in the community in order for people to get adequate treatments when necessary.
